Every class is sixty minutes unless it says otherwise. Booking closes ten minutes before the start and the door closes on the hour so the room stays quiet.
We do whatever the light does.
Dawn flow when it comes up, Golden hour when it turns and Nightfall when the city switches on.
If you have never done this
Your first sixty minutes.
Most people who have never done yoga are not worried about yoga. They are worried about walking into a room where everyone else knows what to do. Here is the whole hour, so nothing is a surprise.
-
10 minutes before
Come up to level 44
The lift on the right of the lobby goes straight there. Shoes come off at the door and there is a shelf for them. Tell whoever is at the desk it is your first time and they will walk you in.
-
5 minutes before
Take any mat
The room is quiet and warm, about 24 degrees. Blocks, a strap and a blanket are already beside every mat. There is nothing to bring. Bare feet are the norm.
-
00:00
The teacher asks two things
Whether anything hurts and whether you have practised before. Say no if it is no. Nobody has ever been asked to leave for being new.
-
00:05
Breathing, on the floor
This part is easy and it lasts a while. It is also the part that quietly does most of the work.
-
00:15
Standing postures
The teacher says every move out loud and shows it. If you lose track, look at the person next to you. They are looking at someone too.
-
00:35
Something will feel hard
Rest in child's pose whenever you like, for as long as you like. It is a posture, not a failure. The teacher will not draw attention to it.
-
00:50
Slower work, then stillness
Gentle stretches on the floor, then five minutes lying still with a blanket over you. Most people say this is the part they came back for.
-
01:00
Tea by the window
Nobody is going to sell you anything. If you want to come back, your first week is AED 99 and you can book the next class from your phone before the lift arrives.

The room faces east.
Fourteen mats, an oak floor, no mirrors and no music louder than the teacher's voice.
Who teaches
One room, six teachers.
Small enough that they learn your name in the first week. Evening classes fill the room; mornings are quieter.
- Layla
- Dawn flow and Morning flow. Trained in Rishikesh, teaches like she is talking to one person.
- Tomás
- Rise slow and Evening yin. The teacher to book if you have never done this.
- Priya
- Golden hour and prenatal classes. Slow, precise, very good with backs.
- Hana
- Midday reset and Nightfall. Restorative work, blankets and quiet.
- Joel
- Saturday long form, ninety minutes, for people who want to be worked.
- Amal
- Runs the four week beginners course that starts on the first Sunday of every month.
Getting here
Level 44, Ghaima House.
Dubai Marina, on the water side of Marina Walk. Look up on a clear evening and you can see the studio lit from the promenade. Take the lift on the right in the lobby, it goes direct to 44.
By car, three hours are free in the tower car park with a stamp from our desk. Sobha Realty metro station is nine minutes on foot and the Marina Towers tram stop is four.
On the winter mornings when the cloud sits low, the roads slow down. Leave ten minutes earlier and come up and watch it lift from the window. Two showers, towels, lockers by the door, and tea after every class.
Before you book
Plain answers.
- I have never done yoga. Which class do I book?
- Rise slow at 07:15 or Sunday slow at 09:00. Both are built for first timers. Dawn flow is fine too if you are an early riser and do not mind working a little harder.
- What do I wear?
- Anything you can move in. Bare feet. Leave the jewellery at home and eat lightly, if at all, in the two hours before.
- Do I need to book?
- Yes. Fourteen mats so the teacher can see everyone. Booking closes ten minutes before the class starts.
- What if I am late?
- The door closes at the start time. It is not a punishment, it is so the room stays quiet for the people already in it. Your class goes back on your pass if you tell us before.
- Can I cancel?
- Up to four hours before, from your account. The class goes back on your pass. Later than that and it is used.
- Where does the booking happen?
- On our booking system, which opens from any Book button on this page with the class already chosen. You will see the time, the teacher and the price again before you pay.
Next class
See you at dawn.
Dawn flow is at 06:00. Your first week is AED 99 and booking takes about a minute.
